And we start by putting down our passport in Tunisia.
After closing its doors to unvaccinated travellers, Tunisia has decided to impose a curfew on its population. The reason for this is not far to seek, since the country is experiencing an upsurge in cases of contamination. From now on and for two weeks, a curfew is applied from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. That’s not all, the government has also asked to postpone or cancel all public rallies or demonstrations.

Indonesia: reopening of the borders for the French!
After the bad news coming from Tunisia, we suggest you embark for Indonesia.
And good news, there, the government decided last Thursday to delete its red list, in which France was. This revocation means that the French can again travel to Indonesia and are no longer inadmissible.
And since, there is always a “but”, in the industry so technically travelers can go there, visas are always mandatory and are still not issued. Indeed, by surfing on the website of the French Embassy in Jakarta, it is mentioned that “visa waiver and issuance of visas on arrival for tourist stays remain suspended“. Despite everything, let’s see the positive and after two years of closure, the Indonesian government is showing the first signs of a possible reopening of the destination.
As a reminder, in 2017, 274,000 French people visited Bali and the other treasures of the archipelago, even though the tourist office was aiming for 300,000 French visitors in 2019. To consult, all the conditions in order to travel to Indonesia, we invite you to consult this article.
United Kingdom: a lighter protocol from France
And let’s continue in the semi-good news, crossing the channel. Indeed, while Boris Johnson had taken a first step, by easing the health protocol to go to England, France (for once) decided to follow suit! As announced by Gabriel Attal and unveiled by Jean-Baptiste Lemoyne, the conditions for returning to France from the UK are much lighter.
Thus, from this Friday, January 14, 2022, the French government has put an end to compelling reasons and 10-day isolation, in the event of a trip across the Channel.
From now on, it will be enough to present the negative result of a test of less than 24 hours. Despite everything, if France and the British government show the desire to promote exchanges between the two destinations, there are still some frictions.
Once in London, travelers must bring proof of purchase of a PCR or antigen test to be carried out no later than two days after arrival in the territory.

Cuba: new constraints for French travelers
While in November Cuba had tried to revive tourism, the island had not anticipated the appearance of a new variant. Bad luck omicron arrived and the world closed. Although with a disciplined population and a vaccination rate of 86% (fully vaccinated), the Cuban government has decided to issue a new protocol for travelers. The objective is to limit the importation of cases and in particular of the famous variant. Concretely, since January 5, 2022, all travelers “must be fully vaccinated against Covid-19 upon arrival.“In the future, people who have not been vaccinated will undoubtedly find it increasingly difficult to cross borders. To get on the plane, to go to Cuba, tourists must carry a PCR test less than 72 hours old and have completed a mandatory document (72 hours before boarding).
Please note that antigenic tests do not justify a negative result. and therefore to be able to show their credentials. It is advisable to organize oneself accordingly, since the laboratories are taken by storm in particular to carry out PCR tests.
In Brief: Austria, Qatar, Portugal, Scotland…
In Austria, the government has decided to reduce the validity of the health pass after the 2nd vaccination. If the European Commission required 9 months, for travelers wishing to take advantage of the Austrian slopes, it will be necessary to justify a booster dose, at the latest 6 months after the 2nd dose (to find out more, click here).
In Portugal, the health protocol has been adjusted and above all lightened. For the most revelers, nightclubs and bars reopened this Friday, January 14, 2022. In addition, there is no longer any need to provide a test to go to the restaurant or hotel, because only a valid health pass ( digital EU Covid certificate, or proof of vaccination (full pattern), or negative Covid test) is required to travel to various locations (read more here).
In Qatar, France is in the sights, due to the strong circulation of the epidemic. Our country has been placed on the red list, which means that travelers will have to complete a 2-day quarantine for those vaccinated, but also fulfill a whole host of conditions, which can be found by clicking here.
In Scotland, there is no longer any need to be tested before departure, however the cotton swab is still essential once you arrive at your destination (for more information, click here).
