Why choose to ski with the family in St Anne la Condamine?

We chose to go to last minute skiing. I was looking for a small resort that does not have packages at 50 € per person and with snow because we live close to the Vosges resorts, but completely devoid of snow this year … I stumbled upon this resort by chance, I quickly found an available accommodation at the foot of the slopes at an attractive price, so we went for it.

What activities did you practice during your stay in this family resort?

We of course practiced downhill skiing, but we also did snowshoeing directly from our accommodation (two marked routes on this station and many others around), and we also made an igloo, finally we tried …

What is the level of equipment for skiing in the resort (number of tracks on tracks and / or on the cross-country?)

The station is not very big, but is particularly suitable for a family audience. But it also has the advantage of being able to suit the more athletic because there are areas dedicated to free-ride for those who are interested (I have absolutely no level !!) and also ski touring. There are a dozen trails, from green to black. They are served by chairlifts or ski lifts. The bottom of the station is at 1800m, which guarantees very good snow cover. The top of the station, accessible by chairlift, culminates at 2400m, and up there a real postcard landscape !!! And in addition, you can go down via a green slope, which makes it accessible to skiers of all levels. On site, possibility of ski lessons by ESF. There are no cross-country ski trails.

What is your best memory from this week of family winter sports?

My best memory is that !! Absolutely fabulous landscapes …

Otherwise, we were happy to see so much snow again, and on top of that we were very peaceful, since we were the last week of the last holiday area, so not many people there, which was very appreciable. Alone on the slopes, and zero waiting times at the chairlift !!

Where did you stay in St Anne La condamine? Do you recommend it?

Yes we stayed at the Ste Anne la Condamine station. It is not a village, but only a station. On site, there is a hotel-restaurant, another restaurant which is only open for lunch, and a building belonging to the municipality which rents a few apartments. This is where we stayed.

I recommend this accommodation because it is in a great location, no need to take the car to go skiing, and you can also come home to rest and go back to skiing, it’s all about freedom. Accommodation is very attractively priced and has what it takes to have a good week. But be careful, you have to anticipate when it comes to shopping, because there are no stores on site (the first grocery store is 20 minutes away by car …)

What did you dislike (visit, way of travel, atmosphere …)?

Nothing, we had a great week. The only downside maybe the only day when the weather was not nice at all, there should have been a biathlon animation and a torchlight descent on site, and everything was canceled …

How does this resort deserve this family resort label? Would you recommend it to families with very young children and why?

Yes it is a really family resort. There are very wide and easy slopes on all parts of the domain. You don’t have to be a champion to get to the top of the domain. It’s not very big, so there’s no risk of getting “lost”. A small ski lift is reserved for beginners a little away from other slopes. There are also the ESF lessons for children to learn to ski.

On site also rental of skis, snowshoes, and snow scooters.

Do you have any advice for other vacationers regarding a stay in St Anne la Condamine? (clothes, travel tips etc…).

Be sure to anticipate the fact that there is no nearby store for refueling. It is however possible to order bread at the Renardière restaurant, plus it’s super good!

What budget for a stay in St Anne la Condamine during the February holidays with the family? (average expenditure per day or per item per trip)?

Accommodation expense: we paid € 570 for the week in communal accommodation, simple but sufficient accommodation. ski passes: € 21 / adult / day and € 18.50 / child, there are decreasing weekly rates or even hourly rates … I don’t have the prices for ski rentals and snowshoes because we had our equipment. When it comes to food, each according to their desires, you can cook yourself or go to a restaurant … I recommend the one at La Renardière, it is very nice and less expensive than the hotel restaurant.
