Operation seduction

After registering a dizzying drop of – 98% in the volume of overnight stays last winter, according to figures of the National Observatory of Mountain Stations ANMSM – Atout France, the holiday villages want to forget this 2020/2021 season and are redoubling their efforts to ensure their recruitments.
“This year we will once again be counting on our loyal seasonal employees. Corn the virtual closure of mountain resorts last year greatly disrupted recruitment: we need to win back seasonal employees who have had to turn to other jobs “, explains Sylvain Antonot, HR Director Pierre & Vacances.
” Furthermore, we are moving the recruitment cycle forward from September for our 66 mountain sites and Pierre & Vacances will participate in local job fairs “, he continues.
In order to meet its future employees, Club Med organizes events across France or online. The first Jobdating Live will take place at 9 a.m. on Thursday September 16, 23 and 30.
The “Relaunch Train”, organized in partnership with Pôle emploi, will crisscross France from September 6 to October 2. Meeting on the ClubMedJobs Facebook page, section events to know all the dates.
Villages Clubs du Soleil is also betting on events with several recruitment fairs planned in Marseille, La Rochelle (October 15), Nantes (October 13) or even Chalon Sur Saône (September 30). The company is also very active on social networks.
MMV relies on training. The recruits will be grouped together for a week with department heads to experience the mmv service and trained by internal experts and partners such as Michelin-starred chef Cédric Campanella or sports coach Lucile Woodward. Apprenticeship programs with schools specializing in these trades are also in place.

“2022 will be a return to normal”

At the same time, reservation books are filling up, the winter season promises to be good!
” We are very confident for this winter season after more than two years without a ski vacation. The sanitary and meteorological conditions must be met ”, indicates Pierre & Vacances, who noted from mid-April, at the opening of the winter 2021/2022 sales, strong demand for mountain stays, mainly from British customers.

For its part, Villages Clubs du Soleil is optimistic about attendance. “Travel abroad has not fully resumed. The loyal clientele from one year to the next and the beautiful summer suggest that the clientele will be there, we specify internally.
“It’s still difficult to have real trends, but we feel that our customers missed skiing last year. For a few days sales are accelerating with sales levels comparable to 2019, according to mmv, the French specialist in Club holidays in the mountains.

There may be tensions on stocks. On the one hand, customers who are thirsty for vacations, deprived of snow last year, or even for 2 years for those who start at the end of winter … On the other hand a last minute phenomenon which is growing more and more. There is also a certain wait-and-see attitude. The snow weather will therefore be an important element in guaranteeing the season. “, he predicts.
