The cathedral of Notre-Dame of Paris will introduce a new step in his restoration from this Monday, 3 August, more than a year after the fire of April 15, 2019. The removal of the grand organ, which must be cleaned piece by piece, will take until 2024the date at which the building should reopen its doors.
In the meantime, it is possible to visit Notre-Dame by wearing virtual reality goggles thanks to the company FlyView, which offers this experience, from Saturday, July 11. By donning this pair of glasses, the users are projected inside the cathedral a few days after the fire. The floor is covered with rubble and the arrow the cathedral has pierced the vault falling.
This experience has not failed to impressed Henry and his mother Havza : “The see inside like that, it was quite surprising because we had not necessarily images and it is moving with the musical background”. It is also possible to find them on the roofs, with gargoyles.
The images are overlaid between the pre-and post-fire for those who had never been able to visit the cathedral. This “visit” will cost you between 15 and 19 eurosfor a trip of 19 minutes.
