Between January and June, 6,660,000 tourists from the United States arrived in Mexico by air, 50.5% more than the previous year and also exceeded the 5,592,000 in 2019 (+19.1%), according to the data of the Unit of Immigration Policy, Registration and Identity of Persons of the Mexican Ministry of the Interior
The second issuer was Canada, with a total of 859,580 tourists and an increase of 443.4% compared to the first half of 2021. The market is 40.5% away from reaching the volume prior to the pandemic: 1,445,000. For its part, Colombia contributed 412,542 arrivals by air, 191.9% more than in 2021 and 49.1% more than in 2019, when they totaled 276,762.

Of the rest of the nationalities, 2,334,000 tourists were recorded in the first six months, that is, 136.1% more than in 2021 and representing 22.7% of the market share.
4,823,000 international tourists arrived at the Cancun airport, this is 83.8% more than in the same period of 2021. 1,974,000 tourists (+111.2%) arrived at the airport in the Mexican capital and in Los Cabos they accounted for 1,125,000 (+51.6%).
