Idyllic bike route: New greenway opened in Ireland

Destinations

Morning city traffic winds slowly along the Liffey. The river divides Dublin into north and south. The children in the back seat wonder how many of the 130 kilometers of cycle path along the Royal Canal they have to cover in one day. At the starting point in Maynooth, Áine Mangan calms the girls down. She heads the Into Kildare tourist office. “You can cycle part of the route, get on between the towns or leave the greenway at any time,” she explains on the terrace of the “Glenroyal Hotel”.
