TourMaG.com – What is the specificity of your agency?
Lea Rousset: Specialist in the organization of walking trips and cycling trips (mountain biking, cycle tourism and road cycling) while roaming, LaRébenne is a receptive travel agency, which since 2001 has created its own tours in the Pyrenees and abroad.
Based in Foix, Ariège, in the heart of the Pyrenees, the LaRébenne team benefits from strong field experience and rich and loyal partnerships with its local service providers: accommodation providers, transporters, bicycle rental companies, etc.
Due to its experience in the field of itinerant stays, the agency has developed many skills in this area.
TourMaG.com – What is your personal favorite in your region (tourist site, castle, museum, natural site, viewpoint, etc.)?
Lea Rousset: The LaRébenne team’s favorite is the Castle of Montségur.
It is one of the high places in the history of Catharism and is one of the great sites of Midi-Pyrénées. Located in Ariège, Montségur is a castle filled with mysteries.
Fortress-sanctuary of Catharism, it has been the subject of numerous writings over the centuries which followed the events of the Crusade.
Standing at 1,207 meters above sea level, on the highest part of a rocky outcrop called “pog”, the castle of Montségur has been classified as a historic monument since 1862.
The peculiarity of this place is that it seems to have been placed by giant hands on this rocky peak, which is particularly impressive and visible from Foix.
On site, we let ourselves be carried away by a mysterious atmosphere full of history that transports us to the era of Catharism with a 360 ° view of the Ariège mountains.
