The European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) gave its approval on January 27 for the return to service of a modified version of the Boeing 737 MAX
We have taken an important step, said EASA Managing Director Patrick Ky “Following a thorough analysis by EASA, we have determined that the 737 MAX can be safely returned to service.
This assessment was carried out independently of Boeing or the Federal Aviation Administration and without any economic or political pressure … “

“Let me be absolutely clear as to what follows he added. “i[Nous sommes convaincus que l’avion est sûr, ce qui est la condition préalable pour donner notre approbation. Mais nous continuerons de surveiller de près les opérations du 737 MAX alors que l’avion reprendra le service.

The Boeing 737 MAX was grounded around the world in March 2019 following two crashes in just six months, which left 346 dead.
