Air France to carry out a new collective dismissal

Despite the fact that the public treasury has contributed almost 14 billion euros to the rescue of Air France, despite the fact that delays at many airports occur, the French company is negotiating new layoffs (Air France: new bailout of 4,000 million to withstand the crisis).

The news has caused surprise in France because Air France had already cut 7,500 jobs in the last two years, of which a thousand correspond to Hop!, a subsidiary company covering inland routes in France. According to Le Figaro, these layoffs are now in addition to the previous ones (Air France announces 7,500 layoffs at all levels).

The cancellations will have to be agreed by the end of July, as the airline admitted to the media. They will affect the ground staff of the airports, of which it has only been confirmed that those of Paris Orly and Marseille were included.

The airline has been under the management of Ben Smith for four years, the Canadian who, upon joining, promised to restore the financial health of the group, which also includes KLM.
